Today, you’ll get to mee the one and only Patty Peterson! Patty is a world class Jazz/ R&B vocalist and Jazz radio personality. She is a mainstay in the jingle and voice over industry and an inspiring presenter on the national speaking circuit. In addition to being an award winning vocalist both live and in-studio, Patty has hosted multiple radio talk shows, she's been an actress, a model, appeared in numerous commercial voice-overs and jingles, and has performed the national anthem at several major venues - the link to one of these is in the show notes. Patty has also been producer for shows like “Memories – The Music of Barbra Streisand,” “The Jazz Women All Stars” and she’s produced the Minnesota Jazz Legends for Jazz88 since its inception in 2014 and, The Peterson Family Christmas Shows for more than 25 years!
Patty Peterson was born into what we all know as Minnesota’s First Family of Music; The Peterson Family. This family’s gifting stems from the legendary parents Willie and Jeanne Arland Peterson but then those talented genes extended throughout the entire family to Linda Peterson, Billy Peterson, Ricky Peterson and Paul Peterson all of whom are recording artists and are currently touring or otherwise involved in the national and international music scene. The Peterson family members either once played with or are currently touring with with such well known artists as: Dizzy Gillespie, Bob Dylan, Steve Miller, Kenny Loggin's, Michael Bolton, Carlos Santana, Neil Young, Stevie Nicks, Fleetwood Mac, George Benson, Oleta Adams, Anita Baker, Paula Abdul, Peter Frampton, and Prince - Paul Peterson was even featured in the award winning film Purple Rain - and these well knowns names are listed only to name a few of the ways this family has impacted and continues to impact the music we all hear on a daily basis. Patty began singing as a child, and today she’s an award winning vocalist, and has performed to sold-out audiences all over the country from such well known places as The Dakota Jazz Club and Crooners Lounge in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Vibrato, Catalina’s Jazz Club and The Jazz Bakery in Los Angeles, California. Patty has released 5 solo recordings which feature such well known names as Sheila E., David Hazeltine, Stokley Williams, and Ira Sullivan, as well as members of her entire family. In addition to her musical resume, Patty Peterson is also a featured speaker for The John Ritter Foundation for Aortic Health, The American Heart Association, St. Jude Medical and The Minneapolis Heart Institute among others. and if all that wasn’t enough, Patty is also the host of her own weekly contemporary jazz show on KBEM 88.5FM
